We recommend the
ISO Handbook, Volume III: LWS - The Long-Wavelength Spectrometer as a general reference point. Latest updates and further details on calibration can also be found in technical notes and publications
available below.
Highly Processed Data Products (HPDP)
Some observations taken in specific observing modes have been fully
reprocessed in a systematic way by experts after the release of the
last Off-Line Processing pipeline (v10) released in 2003 and are now
made available as 'Highly Processed Data Products'
through the ISO Data Archive interface.
The following reprocessed data sets are available containing
LWS observations made with ISO and are recommended for scientific
usage:
Basic LWS Information
Data Analysis
-
2 packages are available for further analysis
-
Some useful recipes have been written to guide the user and help him decide what data reduction steps are required for his particular data.
Calibration
Different aspects of the LWS calibration, which may be of relevance
to future space missions are addressed in detail in the following papers:
Additional LWS Documents
-
These additional LWS documents
describe aspects of the instrument in
some detail and only need to be read for a deep understanding of a
particular aspect. But be aware that the reports sometimes
reflect "work in progress" and may have been superseded.
See also the proceedings of several ISO Conferences and Meetings for specific instrument related topics.
