Low resolution ISOPHOT-S spectroscopy (2.5 - 5, 6 - 12 $\mu$m) has been used to observe several oxygen-rich and carbon-rich stars in order to gain information about the the composition of the dust present around these stars. Spectra of R CrB have been obtained, near minimum and about 10 months later, showing the change in the intensity of a plateau-like feature between 6 and 8$\mu$m.
