New ISO/LWS results on the Magellanic Clouds HII Regions

J. P. Baluteau 1 - LWS Team 2

1 Laboratoire d'Astronomie Spatiale, LP CNRS, BP 8, F-13376 Marseille Cedex 12, France

Results obtained with the Long Wavelength Spectrometer of ISO on a sample of HII regions in the Small and the Large Magellanic Clouds are reported. The full (45-196 microns) LWS grating spectra of these regions display the CNO far-infrared fine structure lines which probe the different phases present in the interstellar medium. The most salient results of these new data will be discussed and these measurements are compared with the results from both HII regions and photodissociation regions within our own galaxy.
