Explanatory note on Neptune's continuum model by Lindal (13/12/96)

Tables corresponding for the model SEDs of Neptune were produced by Abbas 
based on the model by Lindal (1992, AJ 103, 967). This model takes into
account temperature profiles, CH_4 mixing ratios and absorption by H_2 and He.
 The original data were obtained directly from Voyager IRIS and RSS
instrument data. Comparison with other models for Neptune (Lellouch, 1997 -
private communication), showed consistencies within 10-20% between 30
and 240 microns. Larger discrepancies appear below 30 microns in a regime, 
where H_2 and He absorption becomes a major factor.
