Neptune model by Abbas
The following Tables contain model SEDs for Neptune used for the calibration
of ISOPHOT at long wavelengths as provided by Abbas in
December 1996 for several dates during the ISO mission.
- Neptune on March 30, 1996, (plot)
- Neptune on April 19, 1996, (plot)
- Neptune on October 9, 1996, (plot)
- Neptune on October 16, 1996, (plot)
- Neptune on November 6, 1996, (plot)
- Neptune on March 26, 1997, (plot)
- Neptune on May 13, 1997, (plot)
The model takes into
account temperature profiles, CH_4 mixing ratios and absorption by H_2 and He
taken from
(Lindal 1992 AJ 103, 967).
The original data were obtained directly from Voyager IRIS and RSS
instrument data. Comparison with other models for Neptune (Lellouch, 1997 -
private communication), showed consistencies within 10-20% between 30
and 240 microns. Larger discrepancies appear below 30 microns in a regime,
where H_2 and He absorption becomes a major factor.
