New Version (v4.5) of the ISO Data Archive installed on 05/04/2001

In the afternoon of the 5th of April 2001, a new version (v4.5) of the ISO Data Archive software was installed.

The major improvements of this new version are :

• Make the applet Java 2 compatible, eg it will also work on Netscape 6.0
• (The applet is still working with any browser supporting Java 1.1 onwards, ie MSIE 4.0 and Netscape 4.5 onwards)
• Applet much smaller : ~280 KBytes instead of ~500 KBytes
• Applet much faster thanks to a new highly optimized engine
• Java plugin automatically detected and used
• Better handling of remote archives unavailability
• Inform the user when the archive is unavailable
• Tune request for SIMBAD target translation
• Add possibility to search directly on Solar system targets observed by ISO, also by sub-categories
• Improve help for search with wild-card characters
• Improvement of field-of-views handling and help
• Change the observations related buttons look&feel to show if they have been already used
• The "Proposal abstract" button at the details page now also provides the title of the proposal
• Add a column header in the request monitor
• Add a column with the request finalization time in the request monitor
• Request monitor shows possible preprocessing areas
• Complete Raw Data distribution for SWS instrument
• Login and Proceed button lets you proceed directly using the return key
• Various other minor bugs have been fixed.
